The Tynewydd Inn, Barry

The Tynewydd Inn dates back to the early 1800s when it was built by a Mr J. Thomas who farmed at Barry Island.  Recently refurbished but still retaining some of its original features.  Sofas and flat screened televisions offer a homely and casual experience to the visitor.  Dividing walls within the pub offer quiet corners for a relaxing drink.

Brains Community Pub of the Year winner for 2008.  A pub for all ages offering relaxation from busy everyday life. 

The Red Lion, Bonvilston

Red Lion, BonvilstonA traditional 17th century country pub located on the A48 in Bonvilston, Vale of Glamorgan.  Brains establishment with large beer garden.    
A lovely fireplace seen on entering and horse brasses decorates the bar.

Farmers Arms, Aberthin

Farmers Arms located in the small village of Aberthin in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Borough Arms, Barry

A traditional pub situated on the high street with copper topped tables and stools.  Homely with various painted inscriptions on walls and beams including:
'It was my wife who drove me to drink. And I forgot to thank her!'
'Love makes the World go round. But Whisky makes it go three times faster'
Selection of ciders reduced on a Sunday.

Star Inn, Dinas Powys

One of the oldest buildings in the village and originally built as a Tudor courthouse.  The interior comprises of an inglenook fireplace, cross beamed ceiling and spiral stairs.

An earlier extension incorporated the blacksmiths and carpenters shop! 

Williams Jenkins the last ‘Mayor’ of Dinas Powys gave a speech outside the pub before enticing everyone in for a drink. 

From the Star young men of the village marched off to war in 1914, some sadly never to return.
