Bell Vue, New Quay

The short lived Bell Vue was located on George Steet.  Opened in circa 1868 and flourished until the 1880s.

Anchor Inn, Rhosllannerchrugog

The old inn stood at the bottom of Pentre Hill but fire destroyed the establishment in 1956.  The licensee in the 1930s was Edward Davies who was known locally as Ned the Anchor, who served home brew.

The boxer, Billy Morgan, had his own gymnasium in the pub's stables.
 

The Bird in Hand, Neath

Neath RUF during the 1920s changed at the pub and then proceeded to walk across the fairground to the ground.  According to Dai Davies ‘they had shower baths and showers, everything was there for us’

Angel Tavern, Welshpool

The timber framed inn dated back to the 16th century and was much changed in the 18th century.  During the 19th century the Angel was a popular watering hole for cattlemen attending the market.  By 1881 the Angel had ceased to be a public house and one Thomas I.Williams, shoemaker was occupying the premises.

Liverpool Arms, Bangor
