Ship Inn, Aberporth
The Ship Inn overlooks one of the most beautiful beaches in Wales in the small village of Aberporth in west Wales and dates back to the early 19th century. Low levelled beams in open planned room with various nautical memorabilia on walls and ceilings.
The innkeeper in 1851 was one Evan Owen who lived in the Ship with his wife and five children. His other profession was a Mariner. They also had a servant called Elinor Phillips aged 21.
Like most other inns in Wales the Ship brewed its own beer and during the 1920s Lizzie Thomas of Ynys Wen brewed the beer.
The Ship Inn continues to dispense real ale and serves food either in the inn itself or the extension which overlooks the bay.
Dog friendly establishment.
