Kings Arms, Pentyrch

The Kings Arms in Pentyrch is a 16th century Grade II listed Welsh longhouse farm called Cae Golman.  It has white washed stone walls.  Original features include flagstone floor and open fireplace while the walls are limewashed.  It became established as a public house in the 18th century.  A chamfered beam dated 1711 as in the lounge.

Located on the northern outskirts of Cardiff and comprises a bar, lounge area and a restaurant.  A function room is also available along with a decent sized beer garden.  Also has large landscaped gardens with food being sourced locally.

Brass and copper objects decorate the walls.

Now run as a joint venture between Brains and Otley Brewery and as a consequence a fine location for real ale enthusiasts.  Local cider include Orchard Gold from Gwynt y Ddraig.

At one time the King's Arms was one of two public houses in the area famous for their bardic jousting.  The other being the Colliers Arms on the Garth.
