Submitted by PubsCymru on
The building reputedly dates back to 1432 and is located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Has an 18th look with cobbled forecourt, archway leading to inner courtyard and dark beamed ceiling. Pewter mugs and brass plates hang from the dresser shelves.
The English historian and antiquarian, Sir Richard Colt Hoare, wrote this of the Bear in the early 19th century: ‘there is a tolerable little Inn at the Bear, but a large party cannot be accommodated’
Serving real ale and awarded the Inn of the Year 2010 by the Good Pub Guide. An array of vintage wines also available.
