Middleton Arms, Llandrindod Wells
Submitted by PCE on
The Middleton Arms in Llandrindod Wells dates back to the 19th century and named after the landowner Edward Middleton Evans who became High Sheriff of Radnorshire in 1849.
With the coming of the railway to the town in the 1860s the Middleton Arms became a local haunt for the navvies which were mainly Irish migrants. With the increase in trade the pub was extended by actually using an original railway sleeper which can still be seen to this day.
In 1991 the Middleton Arms became a Free House for the first time in its history with the new owners totally refurbishing the establishment which now has an open planned interior with a pool room.
