The Otley Arms, Treforest

The Otley Arms was built in 1860 and formerly known as the Forest Comercial Inn located in Treforest near Pontypridd and conveniently situated close to the A470, railway station and the Universtiy of Glamorgan. 

Mount Pleasant Inn, Hirwaun

Mae’n cael ei hadnabod yn lleol fel ‘The Black’ oherwydd y cysylltiad agos a seidins y Black Lion a fu’n rheoli’r glo oedd yn gadael pwll glo Merthyr Vale.

Yn ystod y 1860au cynhaliwyd arwerthiannau anifeiliaid yng Nghastell Coryn a safai nepell o’r Mount Pleasant.  Arferai pobl yfed cyn ac ar ol yr arwerthiannau hyn.

Stag Inn, Trecynon

Ceidwad y Stag bryd hynny oedd dyn o’r enw William Williams.

Roedd yn safle sawl arwerthiant ceffylau fyddai’n tynnu’r wageni cwrw yn ystod canol y 19eg ganrif.

Arferai’r Stag Inn sefyll yn Nhrecynon, Cwm Cynon, rhyw dri-chwarter milltir o orsaf Llwydcoed a milltir o orsaf rheilffordd Cwm Taf yn Aberdar.

Roedd amryw o arwerthiant yn y dafarn dros y blynydoedd e.e.

The Brynffynnon Arms, Llanwonno

The Brynffynon Arms is located in the small village of Llanwonno close to the former mining valleys of the Rhondda and Cynon.  A family run hotel dating back to the 17th century, originally built as a small miner’s public house.  With the coming of new owners in 2008 the Brynffynon has been much refurbished but losing none of its character.

Serving a fine selection of real ales and ciders and since 2010 included in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. 

Cardiff Arms, Hirwaun

The former coaching inn, Cardiff Arms was built in 1793 and located on the square  in Hirwaun in the Cynon Valley.  

Was closed for a while but after major refurbishment the Castle Arms was reopened in March 2008.  The interior has a comfortable environment with stripped oak bar and leather chairs.

Serving real ale.

Now a popular music haunt with live music every Friday evening from local bands to acts signed to SonyBMG.

A busy and spacious traditional public house located in the heart of Treorchy.  Refurbished in 2011 and offering a centre for community events.

Market Tavern, Aberdar

Cafodd ei hadeiladu yn y 1850au pan oedd yn dwyn yr enw The Cowbridge.

Tŷ Newydd, Llanharry

The Tŷ Newydd was an impressive building in the village of Llanharry and stood opposite the Bear inn.  Originally was a late 17th century yeoman’s dwelling and was much restored in the 19th century.  Pub demolished for development in 1974.

Windsor Hotel, Pontyclun

Both the Windsor and the Bute Hotel were built around 1870 as a direct result of the construction of the South Wales railway.  It remains an imposing building in the heart of Pontyclun.
