The Brynffynnon Arms, Llanwonno

The Brynffynon Arms is located in the small village of Llanwonno close to the former mining valleys of the Rhondda and Cynon.  A family run hotel dating back to the 17th century, originally built as a small miner’s public house.  With the coming of new owners in 2008 the Brynffynon has been much refurbished but losing none of its character.

Serving a fine selection of real ales and ciders and since 2010 included in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide.

Close to the Brynffynon Arms stands Eglwys Sant Gwynno where Gruffydd Morgan (1700 – 1737), better known as Guto Nyth Brân the renowned Welsh runner is buried.  The legendary feats of this athlete is revered to this day and celebrated each year in Mountain Ash with the Nos Galan Races.
